FRIENDSHIP — Salt Pond Studio, 522 Cushing Road, hosts two artists with two distinct views of the Maine waterfront. Friendship artist Pam Cabañas and Spruce Head artist Katharine Cartwright team up in this extraordinary exhibition on view from July 27 through Aug. 7.

Cabañas’s series “Working the Waters” depicts the random chaos of the working waterfront in large charcoal drawings on panel. These works are juxtaposed with Cartwright’s exquisite ink drawings from the series “Third Watch,” exploring the order of the ropes and rigging on board beloved sailing vessels.

The exhibition casts off with a rocking artist reception on Friendship Day, Saturday, July 30, from 3 to 8 p.m. Join the artists along with live music on the Salt Pond Stage. All musicians are invited to join guest performers in an open mic celebration of Friendship Day 2022. Come one, come all! Ten percent of Salt Pond Studio proceeds will be donated to the Friendship/Cushing Food Bank.

Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, visit or call 207-691-5787.
