ROCKLAND — Rockland Police Officer Daniel DuHamel has been promoted to Patrol Sergeant.

The announcement was made Saturday, July 23.

DuHamel started with the Rockland Police Department in early 2021 but he is no stranger to promotions, the department noted. DuHamel began his career in law enforcement in January 1995 in Illinois. He spent seven years as a detective and 10 years as a patrol sergeant, with the final two years being spent as a patrol lieutenant.

After retiring from his law enforcement job in Illinois, DuHamel worked for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in Beaufort, S.C., from June 2016 to December 2020. During his tour with Beaufort County, DuHamel spent his last three years working as a homicide detective for BCSO, with the last two years as a detective sergeant.

The department had two sergeant vacancies with the resignations in the past month of Sgts. Scott Solarzano and Ken Smith.
