FRIENDSHIP – The Friendship Days annual 5-kilometer and one-mile fun run return on Saturday, July 30 at the Advent Christian Church.

The mile run, also known as the “Short Haul,” for runners in eighth grade or younger, will set out first at 7 a.m. for a trek from the church, through town and looping back.

The “Long Haul”, or 5K, will set out after the youngsters have completed the shorter course, at 7:50 a.m.

Ten pounds of lobster will be awarded to the overall male and female top finishers of the 5K. There also will be age-group awards.

Preregistration for the race is available at runinarace.com and is $20, plus a $2.75 registration fee at the check out. Preregistration ends 24 hours prior to race day.

Day-of-registration for the 5K will begin at 6:30 a.m. in the church parking lot, and is $25.

The mile run is $5.

If races are canceled due to extreme weather conditions, there will be no makeup date and no refunds.
