Knox County saw 10 additional COVID-19 cases since Saturday, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday, July 19.

And another Knox County resident has been admitted to a hospital with the virus since Saturday.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,900 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 95 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

Statewide an additional 444 cases were reported since Saturday. There were no additional deaths reported statewide July 19, keeping the number at 2,464.

There were 21 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 since Saturday, with the number at 5,277 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 139 Mainers currently in the hospital, up from 119 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 139 hospitalized, 22 are in critical care units and one on a ventilator. Sixty-three critical care beds are available in Maine.
