CAMDEN — The Camden Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a person of interest in a theft investigation.

The Camden Police Department is looking to identify the man in the photograph and speak to him. If anyone can help, contact Officer Hartshorn at 207-236-3030.

Cheryl Beveridge of Beveridge Farm Stand on Turnpike Road in Camden said someone stole from the stand’s money box earlier this year. She posted the theft on social media and was met with considerable support from the community including people who left donations. One person donated money to purchase a Ring camera.

She installed the camera on Sunday, July 3, and on Wednesday, July 6, the device came into use.

She said the man in the photograph and video came to the store, was gathering produce including strawberries, cucumbers, cauliflower, and seven bunches of beet greens. He asked for additional beet greens and she went to get them and her husband had walked away briefly.

Beveridge reviewed the video and said not only did the man not pay for the produce but he used a tool to remove money out of the money box and left.

She said she hopes that posting photos of him will help catch the man.
