Knox County saw three additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Wednesday, July 13.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,863 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 91 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths involving Knox County residents in nearly six weeks.

Statewide an additional 261 cases were reported during the past day. There was one additional death reported statewide July 13, increasing the number to 2,463.

There were 10 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,240 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 120 Mainers currently in the hospital. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 120 hospitalized, 18 are in critical care units and three on ventilators. Sixty-five critical care beds are available in Maine.
