THOMASTON — A trailer broke loose and rolled on its side Tuesday evening, July 12.

The incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Route 1 and Oyster River Road in Thomaston. The trailer was on its side on Oyster River Road, damaging the pavement.

There were no injuries. Oyster River Road was closed at the intersection and Route 1 was limited to one lane as tow trucks were called to remove the trailer.

Hydraulic fluid leaked onto the road and town crews used Oil-Dri and cat litter to absorb the fluids. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection was contacted.

Other details were not immediately available.
