CUSHING — Fire and emergency medical crews from two towns responded early Sunday afternoon, July 10, to a boater who fell into the water.

The man had gone out to his boat on a mooring and was attempting to get from his smaller boat to the larger one when he slipped and struck his head, according to Maine Marine Patrol St. Matthew Wyman. The boater was able to hold onto to the smaller boat.

Rescue crews from Cushing and Friendship were called shortly after 1 p.m. July 10 to the accident that occurred off Kumatage Lane in Cushing and Wadsworth Point Road in Friendship.

The boater was picked up and taken to shore and checked on by medical personnel. He was not seriously injured.
