ROCKLAND — The Oceanside High School girls lacrosse team will host a series of clinics for the introduction to the sport.

The clinic will be Wednesday through Friday, July 13-15 on Wasgatt Field on Thomaston Street.

Those in eighth through 12th grades will meet 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. and those in third through seventh grades 5:20 to 6:15 p.m.

Athletes will be introduced to the fundamentals and basics of game play: shooting, passing, ground ball pick up, plus more and instruction will be adjusted for age level, said Angie Vachon, Mariner varsity coach and clinic director.

“We’ll tell a bit of history on the game and end with some game play on Friday,” she said.

No equipment is needed, however, if one has a stick bring it. Players should dress comfortably and bring water.

“Come on out to learn about this great game, meet some of your OHS girls varsity lacrosse players and maybe find a new favorite sport,” Vachon said.
