Knox County saw one additional COVID-19 case during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday, June 30.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,776 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 91 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths in Knox County in more than three weeks.

Statewide an additional 246 cases were reported during the past day. There were two additional deaths reported statewide June 30, increasing the number to 2,415.

There was one additional person statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,148 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 115 Mainers currently in the hospital. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 115 hospitalized, 22 are in critical care units and three on ventilators. Sixty-three critical care beds are available in Maine
