The town of Union voted on a special article to retain, sell or demolish the Thompson Community Center Building. It would appear the article was artfully written to split the vote of those who did not want to keep the building. This is born out when combining the “yes” votes and the “no’ votes to find that 34.3% of voters agreed to keep the building. An overwhelming 65% opted to sell (in one of three ways) or demolish the building. The crux of the matter is the vast majority of the voters do not want the town to retain ownership of the Thompson Community Center.
