Earlier this month, Trekkers hosted its annual 5K fundraiser for the first time from its own location. After almost a decade of the route starting from Thomaston Library, it was the first (of many) events Trekkers can host from home. It was so invigorating to see our community come together in our backyard, and to introduce the space as a communal, welcoming place for families. One person also said it “was the best 5K” they’d ever run.

We are so grateful to all those who came out to support including the 95 runners and walkers who registered, staff, board, and volunteers who were on the cheering squad, timers, intersection monitors, water-givers, and so many more who pitched in to help.

We are so lucky to be part of a community that supports its students — thank you! This year’s 5K raised a total of $3,524.44, with $2,130 going directly to student dues and the remainder ($1,394.44) going to support Trekkers programs.
