Midcoast Babe Ruth League baseball games, which began for players ages 13-15 in mid-May, were played at a consistent and sometimes fevered pace over recent weeks, but have concluded, with the postseason on-deck for the six teams.

The league finished its final week of regular-season play with Rockland Ford atop the standings with one loss at the conclusion of the 10-game schedule, with the defending champion Damariscotta Lions — as they were at the conclusion of last season — in the middle of the pack.

The final regular-season standings, were: Rockland Ford 9-1 (.900 winning percentage), Waldoboro 8-2 (.800), Damariscotta Lions 6-3-1 (667 percent), Granite Coast Orthodontics 2-7-1 (.222 percent), P.G. Willey 2-8 (.200) and Tidewater Oil 2-8 (.200).

To finish the regular season, Granite Coast Orthodontics and Damariscotta Lions played on Tuesday, June 28 and the opponents finished in 16-16 tie after seven innings before the game was suspended due to darkness. The contest will not be resumed.
