Knox County saw nine additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Wednesday, June 29.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,775 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 91 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths in Knox County in the past three weeks.

Statewide an additional 372 cases were reported during the past day. There were no additional deaths reported statewide June 29, keeping the number at 2,413.

There were 12 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,147 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 109 Mainers currently in the hospital. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 109 hospitalized, 16 are in critical care units and four on ventilators. Sixty critical care beds are available in Maine
