Knox County saw 12 additional COVID-19 cases since Saturday, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Tuesday, June 28.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,766 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 91 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths in Knox County in the past three weeks.

Statewide an additional 466 cases were reported since Saturday. There was one additional death reported statewide June 28, increasing the number to 2,413.

There were 12 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 since Saturday, with the number at 5,135 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 112 Mainers currently in the hospital, down from 138 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 112 hospitalized, 12 are in critical care units and three on ventilators. Eighty-three critical care beds are available in Maine
