ROCKLAND — Reverend Alan Pulkkinen suddenly went home to be with the Lord Dec. 7, 2021.
He was born in Rockland Jan. 20, 1952. He was a graduate of Rockland District High School and the University of Maine. He also attended three years at seminary and later studied family psychology in Indiana. He served as pastor and mentor at various churches in Maine, Indiana, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Michigan until retiring to Texas.
Alan is survived by his two children and their spouses, Jason Pulkkinen (Melissa) and Jamie Johnson (Matthew), whom he shared with his former spouse, Susan Pulkkinen; his brothers, Karl Pulkkinen (Jane), Dana Pulkkinen (Joan), Mark Pulkkinen (Megan); and sister-in-law, Diane Pulkkinen; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Pulkkinen, and his parents, Matti J. and Pauline E. Pulkkinen.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. The Rev. Paul Munro will officiate.
