Knox County saw seven additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Saturday, June 25.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,754 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 91 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths in Knox County in the past two weeks.

Statewide an additional 209 cases were reported during the past day. There were two additional deaths reported statewide June 25, increasing the number to 2,412.

There were two additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,123 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 102 Mainers currently in the hospital, down from 138 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 102 hospitalized, 16 are in critical care units and four on ventilators. Sixty-six critical care beds are available in Maine
