Knox County saw 10 additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday, June 24.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,747 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 91 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.

There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths in Knox County in more than a week.

Statewide an additional 247 cases were reported during the past day. There was one additional death reported statewide June 24, increasing the number to 2,410.

There were 10 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,121 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 121 Mainers currently in the hospital, down from 138 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 117 hospitalized, 17 are in critical care units and four on ventilators. Seventy-one critical care beds are available in Maine
