THOMASTON — Steep stairs, balloon construction, concealed spaces, no fire stops between floors, and old electric are some of the challenges in historic homes Thomaston Fire Chief Mikial Mazzeo will discuss Tuesday, June 21, at the first talk of the season for the Thomaston Historical Society.
The talk starts at 7 p.m. in the hall on the lower level of the Federated Church (8 Hyler St.) — the entrance is from the parking lot behind the church, accessible off of Hyler Street or Dunn Street.
A brief historical society annual membership meeting will take place before the talk.
Chief Mazzeo’s presentation will offer input for fire safety and prevention for those buying or restoring old homes, backed up with experiences and stories.
