THOMASTON — A brand-new musical, “Count Me In,” will be performed in historic Watts Hall, 174 Main St., Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, June 26, at 3 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2, at 7 p.m. “Count Me In,” which is based on the life of General Henry Knox (Brad Fillion) and wife Lucy (Maggie Machaiek), offers entertainment for the whole family with stirring music, action, adventure, humor, conflict and hope. Ultimately, however, the musical is a love story — love of country, love between Henry and Lucy, and love of place, Thomaston, Maine.

Director Daryl Hahn, Music Director Sean Fleming and the authors of the show invite the audience to look back at events 250 years ago and examine them through different lens — through their own eyes and the eyes and minds of today’s children who are studying (onstage and in reality) men and women who have “made their mark” and imagining what they can do with their young lives. How will they make their mark on history? “Count Me In” creates a rousing, inspiring journey.

In keeping with the authors’ wishes that the musical be a gift to the community, general admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the Watts Hall Players website at or at the door.
