UNION — Martha Johnston-Nash and Wayne Kirkpatrick won seats on the Union Select Board, the town reported Tuesday night, June 14.

Johnston-Nash, the incumbent, won re-election to her two-year seat on the Select Board with 357 votes. She was running against Linda Waltz-Mountainland, who received 208 votes.

Wayne Kirkpatrick won a three-year seat on the Select Board with 308 votes. Kirkpatrick will take the seat currently occupied by Josh White. White did not run for re-election.

Gail Hawes campaigned as a write-in candidate against Kirkpatrick. Hawes received 202 votes.

There is still a vacant seat on the Union Select Board left by Bill Lombardi, who resigned. Lombardi’s resignation came too close to the June election to be included on the ballot, so his seat will be filled via special election.

Erik Amundsen won re-election to the Regional School Unit 40 Board of Directors. Write-in candidate Nicole Taylor received 55 votes.
