ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills Field Hockey Clinic will be offered Tuesday and Thursday nights June 28 through Aug. 4.

The clinic is open to players entering kindergarten through 12th grade, no experience necessary. Those in kindergarten through eighth grade can come from School Administrative District 28, Union 69 or Regional School Unit 13. High school clinic participants must come from the students who will play at Camden Hills.

The clinic is at the Camden Hills Regional High School field hockey field.

Through games and drills, the clinic focuses on skills, teamwork, communication, strategic development and fun, said Lindsey Clement, clinic director and Windjammer varsity coach.

The youth group (K-5) begins with the fundamentals of the sport, while the middle school group (grades 6-9) will fine tune skills and progress to offensive and defensive strategy.

Clement is assisted by Linda Cowan (CHRHS junior varsity coach) and Andrea Garver (Oceanside Middle School coach), as well as current and former high school players.

Kindergarten through eighth-graders will meet for skills June 28 through Aug. 4 from 5 to 6 p.m. Those in ninth-grade will meet for skills June 28 through July 28 from 5 to 6 p.m. Those in ninth through 12th grades will meet for conditioning, drills and scrimmages June 28 to July 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Sticks will be available, first-come, first-served. Each player is responsible for their own shin guards and mouthguard. Without those, there will be drills a child will not be able to participate in. Players should bring their own water and hair should be pulled away from the face.

The cost is $50 per player. If a family registers two or more siblings, the cost is $40 per player. Scholarships are available.

The clinic will follow school district COVID-19 policies.
