ROCKLAND — The Sail, Power and Steam Museum will open their new “Wing on Wing” Boathouse with a community celebration of maritime history and music Saturday, June 18, 2022.

Coinciding with National Museum Week (June 13-19)  this community celebration  begins with a museum Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. including light refreshments, free admission, and self-guided tours of the museum’s wide collection of maritime exhibits. For the first time, the museum’s new Wing on Wing Boathouse will open its doors to the public, displaying a collection of boats including a replica Light Horseman, a steam powered paddle wheel boat, and other vessels from the museum’s extensive collection.

The  celebration concludes with an “Evening with Gabriel Donohue and Friends” concert, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the new boathouse. Tickets are $25 in advance, guaranteeing early seating. Tickets may be purchased at the Sail, Power and Steam Museum or by calling 207-701-7627.

The new Wing on Wing Boathouse will also be available as event rental space upon request.

The Museum’s Community Open House is free and open to the public. Tickets for the Gabriel Donohue concert are $25 each. Purchase tickets early to guarantee early and best seating. Tickets are available in advance at the Sail, Power and Steam Museum during open hours (Wednesday–Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Tickets may also be available at the door until they are sold out.
