Knox County saw six additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday, June 10.

Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,684 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus, 90 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died. This does not include results from at-home tests.

Three of the hospitalizations have occurred this week.

Statewide an additional 314 cases were reported during the past day. There was one additional death reported statewide June 10, increasing the number to 2,402.

There were seven additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,058 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The CDC reports 132 Mainers currently in the hospital, down from 183 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 132 hospitalized, 19 are in critical care units and eight on ventilators. Seventy-nine critical care beds are available in Maine.
