Knox County saw 10 additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday, June 2.
Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,634 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus, 87 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died. This does not include results from at-home tests. There have been no additional hospitalizations or deaths reported in the past week in Knox County.
Statewide an additional 275 cases were reported during the past day. There were five additional deaths reported statewide June 2, increasing the number to 2,351.
There were 10 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 4,985 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The CDC reports 191 Mainers currently in the hospital, up from 167 last week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 191 hospitalized, 28 are in critical care units and three on ventilators. Only 50 critical care beds are available in Maine.
