ROCKPORT — The Rockport Library Foundation and the Rockport Public Library present an author talk and book signing with New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian on Friday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St. Tickets are free and may be reserved in advance online.

Bohjalian is the author of 24 books. His work has been translated into 35 languages and become three movies and an Emmy-nominated TV series. As New York Times reviewer Sarah Lyall wrote, “Bohjalian is a pleasure to read… Bohjalian is a writer with a big heart and deep compassion for his characters.”

“An Evening with Chris Bohjalian” is sponsored by the Rockport Library Foundation and made possible by the generosity of the many foundation donors who participated in last year’s programming campaign. Having successfully raised the necessary funds to support the building of the library, the foundation has now turned its attention to providing programming and activities beyond what the library would be able to provide on its own. Bohjalian is the first speaker in a planned author series, bringing interesting and insightful speakers to the Rockport community.

Barnswallow Books of Rockport will be on hand with his books to sell for the book signing, including copies of his newest titles, “The Lioness” and “Hour of the Witch,” plus previous works such as “Midwives” and “The Flight Attendant.”
