ROCKLAND — The Maine Department of Transportation announced Thursday, May 26 that some Maine State Ferry Service trips between Rockland and Vinalhaven will be cancelled this weekend after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. This employee’s absence, coupled with ongoing staffing challenges, means the MSFS does not have enough crew members to staff every regularly-scheduled run this weekend.
The following trips will be cancelled:- Friday, May 27th 4:30 p.m. trip from Rockland to Vinalhaven
- Saturday, May 28th 7:00 a.m. trip from Vinalhaven to Rockland and 4:30 p.m. trip from Rockland to Vinalhaven
- Sunday, May 29th all trips except for the 4:30 p.m. trip from Rockland to Vinalhaven.
“We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause our customers,” the Ferry Service stated in its announcement.
