CAMDEN
Election will be held 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 at the Camden Public Safety Building, 31 Washington St.
Running for a three-year term on the Select Board are Incumbent Marc Ratner and challenger Thomas Hedstrom. Stephanie French and Robert Lawson are vying for another two-year seat on the board.
Among the big issues on the town meeting warrant are articles 15 and 16. The first asks if the Select Board has authorization to dispose of tax-acquired property. The second asks if residents would allow the Select Board to negotiate to sell the tannery property for development at a price of no less than $250,000. The project would have to conform to the Cranesport plan put forth by Mike Mullins, having a central pavilion, workshops for “makers,” and guaranteed access for the farmers market.
Residents will also vote on a proposed moratorium on piers, the town’s budget, approve school budgets and vote in the state primaries.
