ROCKLAND — First Fridays at the Farnsworth return Friday, June 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event, which is part of Arts in Rockland’s First Friday art walks, offers free admission to the Farnsworth Art Museum during those hours. This month, live music in the museum will be provided by the Midcoast Music Academy. The museum’s Main Street doors will be open for easier access to the galleries.
Visitors can enjoy the following exhibitions: “Andrew Wyeth: Islands in Maine;” “Andrew Wyeth: Early Temperas;” “Farnsworth Forward: The Collection;” “Leonard Baskin: I Hold The Cracked Mirror Up to Man;” and the exhibition “Ashley Bryan: Beauty in Return,” which opens officially Saturday, May 28.
First Fridays at the Farnsworth will take place this year on June 3, July 1, Aug. 5, Sept. 2 and Oct. 7. This is the 13th consecutive year that First National Bank has sponsored the event for the Farnsworth, allowing for free admission to all. For more information, visit farnsworthmuseum.org.
