WALDOBORO — Medomak Valley High School ceramic students will host the 20th annual Empty Bowl Supper on Wednesday, May 18, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

A large act of community service for students and staff alike, the supper hosts beautiful homemade ceramic bowls for $10 each. Students created several hundred bowls, and an additional 50 from Ceramics Instructor Krisanne Baker. Staff and families of students provide delicious homemade dishes from which to fill the chosen bowls.

Enjoy a meal with friends and family. Start a collection or continue to build one. One-hundred percent of monies collected are divided between six food pantries within the five town school district, including Soul Food located at MVHS. Additional donations to help fight food insecurity within our communities are welcome. A special silent auction of unusual ceramic items will also begin at 5:3 p.m.

The supper begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. First come first pick of the bowls always ensures a queue at the main entrance of Medomak Valley High School.

Live music performed by students in the Chorus II and Jazz Band classes will be played throughout the evening as you enjoy your meal and conversation.

The Medomak Valley Jobs for Maine’s Graduates program will be partnering up with the Clay program to implement their first Dessert Sale Fundraiser during Empty Bowl Supper, as well. JMG will be making a variety of tasty desserts for sale to the public to raise money for a professional clothing rack(s) and shoe rack to be displayed in the classroom.

JMG was graciously provided professional dress apparel last spring and would like to showcase it. The apparel is to support students in the case of a classroom presentation, a job interview, etc.
