CAMDEN — Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., presents a special solo show by Pokey LaFarge 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 20. Peter Gallway will open the evening, which is sponsored by 40 Paper.

Pokey LaFarge, currently touring nationally, writes music influenced by old-time country, blues, folk and Western swing, albeit with a 21st-century twist. His latest (10th) album, “In the Blossom of Their Shade,” was produced and arranged with Old Crow Medicine Show leader Ketch Secor. The singer-songwriter calls it the “first record in which I look for light instead of darkness.”

Gallway is an acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer whose many albums have spanned styles from ’60s rock ‘n’ roll and jazzy folk to atmospheric Americana.
