The Friends of Rockport Public Library will hold its first book sale of the year Friday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 21 from 8 3 p.m. at the Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St., Rockport. The sale will take place in the Rockport Room. A variety of books are available, from fiction, mystery, history, biography, cookbooks, art, Maine, children’s books, and a “specials” table. Along with all those books will be DVDs, CDs, puzzles and more.

All the funds raised will be donated directly to the Rockport Public Library. The funds are used to purchase new library materials, for children and adult programs and supplies, multimedia resources, as well as technology and equipment for the library. Recently, FRPL provided a donation for the new safety rails at the library and the organization is donating three new book stacks, which will allow for better spacing of the current collection and a display area.

Only checks and cash are accepted for the sale. Become a member of the Friends and save 10% on all sales, all proceeds go to the library. Individual memberships are $15; family memberships are $20 and patron memberships are $50.
