May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month. To facilitate learning about Lyme, RSU 3 Adult & Community Education is offering a live Zoom event Monday, May 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Elizabeth Yori, ND, and host Deb Avalone-King will lead the presentation on the ever-present threat of Lyme Disease in Maine. Yori is president of the Maine Association of Naturopathic Doctors and a graduate of Mount View High School.

The Maine CDC report to the Maine Legislature on Lyme Disease, April 2021, stated, “In 2020, (preliminary data as of March 17, 2021) providers reported 1,118 confirmed and probable cases of Lyme disease among Maine residents, which is a rate of 83.2 cases of Lyme disease per 100,000 persons in Maine.”

Learn the symptoms, diagnosis, treatments, and prevention of this potentially debilitating disease. Participants may come view the presentation at Mount View High School in Thorndike or go online at the location of their choice.
