CAMDEN — For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Camden Public Library will be hosting a book sale inside its Blue Door Book Shed. The sale will be held Friday, May 13, through Sunday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during “Camden is Blooming” weekend. The Blue Door Book Shed is located adjacent to the “Meadow Parking Lot,” just past the Camden Amphitheatre.

The sale will have books for all ages and tastes, and the tables will be restocked regularly to ensure that there’s always a full selection to choose from.

The library has received significant donations of books both new and old over the last several months, and these new donations will be featured in the sale. Shoppers will find a bounty of fiction books; a collection of titles for children and young adults; as well as an array of non-fiction sorted across numerous categories. There will also be a selection of puzzles and DVDs for sale.

Book sales such as this generate significant income for the Camden Public Library. During the most recent fiscal year, book sales contributed more than $35,000 to the library’s operating budget. This could not be done without support from the community through donating books to the library, and by purchasing books and other offerings at the sales.

The Camden Public Library accepts donations of nice, well cared for books of any age and for any age (please no books with mold or mildew) at the Book Shed on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and noon throughout the year. For more information, call 207-236-3440 or visit librarycamden.org.
