The original inhabitants of the Camden area
I’ve been following the discussion about the dams and the river, and nowhere have I seen or heard any mention of what the original inhabitants of the area might have thought about the changes being wrought in their environment as European settlers (the original people from away?) arrived and shaped the landscape to their own liking. Some of you will roll your eyes at this, but I just wanted to remind people that history didn’t start with the arrival of the white man, even though we often act as if it did. Perhaps we all need to take a step or two back and look at the bigger picture as we work toward a solution that benefits most and respects what Mother Nature will likely bring us going forward.
