Vose or Virtual Wednesday Series

UNION — The Vose Library presents Ancestry part II with B.J. Jameson Wednesday, May 4, 2022, via Zoom.

B.J. Jamieson is the genealogy reference specialist at the Maine State Library, which lets her indulge her love of books and genealogy to an extent she did not think was possible before she accepted the position. She has a postgraduate certificate in genealogy from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland) as well as a master’s degree in library science.

Family Friendly Variety Show and Spaghetti Dinner

ROCKLAND — A Family Friendly Variety Show and Spaghetti Dinner will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 5 p.m. sponsored by the Rockland Rotary.

A silent auction of Mother’s Day gift baskets will also be available.

The event is looking for traditional or non-traditional talent.

All proceeds go towards the inclusive playground project at MacDougal Park in Rockland.

Rockland Bicycle Club begins

The Rockland Bicycle Club announces the 2022 riding season, with all rides starting/ending at Harbor Park. Helmets must be worn on all rides.

Sunday morning rides are for all abilities/all distances starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Harbor Park and ending Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022.

The Rockland Shuffle will be the first, second and third Friday’s of the months starting at 5:30 p.m. at Harbor Park.

People’s United Methodist Church take-away brunch

SOUTH THOMASTON — The People’s United Methodist Church hosts a take-away brunch Sunday, May 8.

The cost is $10 per meal and free for ladies. The menu includes sausage and egg casserole (vegetarian option available), blueberry muffin and a fruit cup.

The brunch is preorder only and can be made through Sue at 596-6861 by May 5 at 9 p.m. Pick up is from 11-11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 8.

Make checks payable to PUMC or have exact change. Proceeds will be used to support church and community programs.
