WALDOBORO — Nine residents returned candidate papers to run for elected positions in Waldoboro, including a position on the Select Board and the Regional School Unit 40 Board of Directors. Both positions are contested.

Incumbent Robert Butler and resident Seth Hall have both returned nomination papers for the available position on the Waldoboro Select Board. This is a 3-year term.

Incumbent Danny Jackson and resident Steven Karp have returned nomination papers for the 3-year term on the RSU 40 board.

Five seats are available on the budget committee. Incumbents John Blodgett, Seth Blodgett, Valdemar Skov and Sandra O’Farrell have returned nomination papers to run for re-election. Resident Reuben Mahar has also returned nomination papers for a position.

Thomas Ruben, whose term on the budget committee also runs out this election, did not turn in candidate papers to run for re-election.

Michael Thayer has turned in nomination papers to run for the 3-year term available on the Utility District.

The Waldoboro municipal election will be held Tuesday, June 14. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
