CUSHING — It’s time to start thinking Red Sox, and Marty Gitlin, the author of the “Ultimate Boston Red Sox Time Machine Book,” will provide an entertaining and enlightening journey through Sox history on Monday, April 11, from the Cushing Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom.

Gitlin covered baseball for nearly two decades as an award-winning sports journalist before publishing his book in 2020. He will feature nostalgic pictures of the greatest and most colorful players, teams, events and moments in franchise history. The program also includes trivia questions for patrons to ponder and covers the Sox from the Royal Rooters, who launched Red Sox Nation, to Babe Ruth to Ted Williams to The Impossible Dream Season of 1967 to Yaz, Lynn, Rice and ’75 to the heartbreak of 1986. More recently there are Big Papi, the four World Series championships and beyond. It will conclude with a question-and-answer period.

Autographed and personalized copies of his book will be available online following the program.
