ROCKPORT — Skaters of all ages, experiences and skills wowed near capacity crowds with their athleticism and artistry on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26 as the Midcoast Recreation Center Skating School presented its “Curtain Call” shows to literally pull the curtain down on the rink season.

The spring performances showcased songs of Broadway musicals under the direction of Kitrina Patterson, MRC skating director.

The events included two acts, an intermission and plenty of group, duo and solo performances.

Fisher-Barrett is an eighth-grader at Appleton Village School and has skated six years. She said she would rather be on the ice than anywhere in the world.

Landry is a junior at Camden Hills Regional High School. She began skating at age 9 and immediately was drawn to the artistry and challenge of the sport. Landry plays field hockey and flute and, in school, has a passion for science and mathematics.
