In order to continue providing the safest care environment, while addressing the supportive needs of patients, Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital have updated their outpatient, emergency department and ambulatory/diagnostic visitor policies, effective Monday, March 7. The changes allow for adult patients in these areas to be accompanied by one visitor or escort, provided space is sufficient to allow for social distancing. Masking and social distancing requirements will remain in effect.
The full visitation policies for both hospitals are available here:
PBMC: PBMC Visitors | Pen Bay Medical Center | Rockport, ME (mainehealth.org)
WCGH: Visitation Safety Measures | Waldo County General Hospital | Belfast, ME (mainehealth.org)
Visitors are urged to be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations before visiting patients or others in the hospital. COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster shots, will help keep visitors and patients safe during visits.
