CAMDEN — Hancock County’s Chris Ross returns for an intimate acoustic SoundCheck performance 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, at the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. The hour-long concert is sponsored by Camden Premier Inns.

Ross, New England Music Awards’ 2014 Songwriter of the Year, offers a smoky Americana, genuine and honest. His heartfelt lyrics and evocative melodies have gained a far-reaching following during these unusual times, thanks to regular online performances from his venerable home in Hancock.

A good song tells a good story, so it’s no surprise that an evening with Chris Ross mixes stories, both amusing and moving, with music. He helped launch the opera house’s limited capacity, socially distanced and livestreamed SoundCheck series in August 2020.

Tickets are $10, and advance purchase is encouraged via camdenoperahouse.com and 236-3154. The opera house’s choose-your-own ticketing software ensures every-other-row distancing, as well as a couple of seats either side of each party’s reservation. Masks are required in the building.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. SoundCheck also is livestreamed on the opera house’s Facebook page, no admission or link required. Up next at the opera house: Scotland’s Tannahill Weavers, March 18.
