ROCKLAND — Penobscot Bay Language School continues its 2022 speaker series with authentic Mexican cuisine and an in-depth discussion about the current humanitarian crisis continuing to play out on the United States’ southern most border.

The Dinner and Discuss event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2022, at PBLS’ Rockland location.

The event is the second Dinner and Discuss event of 2022 featuring an authentic meal inspired by the cuisine of Mexico, prepared by experienced culinary volunteers and staff. The event will culminate with a facilitated discussion focusing on the current humanitarian crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border, including a presentation by recent Skidmore College graduate and dedicated humanitarian volunteer Annie James of Camden, who will recount details of her recent volunteer trip working with a nonprofit organization serving immigrants and refugees on the U.S.-Mexico border.

All participants will be asked to show proof of vaccination (valid vaccination card, clear digital image or printout), and be asked to wear masks when not seated, eating and/or drinking. Symptomatic persons are asked to please stay home (regardless of vaccination status). Space is limited to half capacity (20 guests) during the event to allow for more social distancing between patrons.
