ROCKLAND — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), 21 Winter St., invites the public to join guest artist Alanna Hernandez for an in-person ArtLab for All Ages Abstract Mandalas Saturday, March 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. Taking inspiration from the work of Will Sears and Grace DeGennaro in the current exhibition “Walk the Line,” Hernandez will lead participants to form abstract geometric mandalas by combining drawing with an assemblage of materials. Learn more at cmcanow.org under the events tab.
Hernandez is an artist and educator living in Union. She enjoys creating abstract drawings that use line and crosshatching to convey emotion, movement and tension. She currently has a solo exhibit on view at Interloc Projects.
All workshop attendees are required to wear a mask while indoors at CMCA regardless of vaccination status. For any questions or concerns, contact Education Programs Manager Mia Bogyo at mbogyo@cmcanow.org.
