The Board of the Stewardship Education Alliance has announced the election of Jenna VanRyn, a student at Camden Hills Regional High School, to the S.E.A. Board. Jenna is originally from Connecticut and has lived in Maine for almost three years. She is an avid runner and athlete, and her interests include nutrition and climate change. In exploring the trails of Maine, she has learned the importance of local resources, and working to protect and preserve them.

Jenna will be the S.E.A. Board liaison to Camden Hills Regional High School and will let students and teachers know about programs and events S.E.A. offers. As the liaison from the high school, she will bring students’ concerns and suggestions to the attention of the S.E.A. Board. Jenna’s dual perspective will be very valuable to S.E.A. as it works to support students and teachers in Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport to promote good stewardship of local watersheds.

Jenna will help S.E.A. navigate the world of social media so S.E.A. can gain more awareness of ways to protect the special environment of Midcoast Maine!

The Stewardship Education Alliance supports teachers in public and private schools and after-school programs in Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville, and Rockport by awarding grants for projects, activities, and professional development that further its mission.
