ROCKLAND — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) invites artists of all ages to join ArtLab educators Mia Bogyo, Alexis Iammarino, and guest artist Rachel Alexandrou to take part in hands-on projects you can try at home through its February Vacation Week Video Series.

One free instructional video will be launched each day from Feb. 21 through 24. New video activities with instructional prompts will be posted to both CMCA’s website and to its Facebook page each morning, to spark imagination.

Taking inspiration from the 2022 CMCA exhibiton “Walk the Line,” the video workshops will explore varied approaches to linemaking as a structural tool and as a way to create form and texture. In addition on the final day, Alexandrou will guide participants into reimagining familiar landscapes through various methods, referencing works in Nicola López’s current exhibition “Visions, Phantoms and Apparitions.”

Interested individuals can find a list of materials to be used in the workshops at cmcanow.org and facebook.com/cmcanow. For local participants, free ArtKits are available for pick up at CMCA’s ArtLab, 21 Winter St., beginning Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a limited supply available through Sunday, Feb. 20.
