THOMASTON — A well-known Thomaston resident, military veteran and reality television star is recovering from a life-changing medical event.

Charlie Frattini of Thomaston is currently at Maine Medical Center in Portland recouping from what was described as a massive ischemic stroke.

Frattini is an active member of the community who ran for public office and was on town committees and boards, including the Planning Board.

He is a veteran of the Marine Corps and hosted several seasons of construction-related television shows. Most recently, Frattini was a contestant on the reality television show “Naked and Afraid.”

Wife Emily Gorecki said she is holding on to hope, though the stroke has left Frattini with, “extensive irreversible brain damage and left-side paralysis.”

Gorecki has created a gofundme to help with recovery costs, home construction costs for an ADA-accessible environment and medical costs. Frattini is scheduled to remain in the hospital for several more weeks.

The gofundme can be found at gofund.me/4bec2c66.
