ROCKPORT — The Maine Steiners from the University of Maine presents a concert for the Midcoast community Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Strom Auditorium at Camden Hills Regional High School, 25 Keelson Drive. Of special note will be CHRHS alum Bradlee Watts who is singing with the select a cappella ensemble for the first time this year. Earlier in the day, the Steiners will be working with CHRHS students in a music workshop, as part of their outreach music tour.

The Maine Steiners were founded in 1958 as a subgroup of the larger choir, the University Singers, so that talented vocalists could further pursue excellence in performance. Since then, group members have spent their time learning songs of all different genres to perform at the UMaine campus, and at schools and churches throughout New England during their biannual tours. These week-long tours allow the group to represent the University of Maine and encourage students to continue to pursue music.

During the concert, the Maine Steiners will perform their full repertoire, complete with humor, audience engagement, and of course lots of singing! Admission is by donation. The audience is asked to remain masked and socially distant. For more information, contact kim.murphy@fivetowns.net.
