ORONO — Days before the calendar turned to 2022, Midcoast high school indoor track athletes headed north — the University of Maine, to be specific — on Wednesday, Dec. 29 to compete in the same fieldhouse, albeit in separate meets the same day.
Belfast competed in the morning session and Oceanside of Rockland and Medomak Valley of Waldoboro in the afternoon.
Area athletes worked to a handful of first-place performances as they ran, jumped and tossed to strong performances.
In fact, the Oceanside girls came within a few points of first among the teams at the event.
