WALDOBORO — The Hyssongs present a concert of Christmas gospel music Saturday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. at North Waldoboro Church of the Nazarene, 3008 Washington Road. A potluck supper begins at 5:30 p.m.

Dell, Susan and Richard Hyssong travel full-time as the award-winning Hyssongs. Their energetic family ministry combines vocal harmony, humor and brass instruments (trumpet and trombone). The group, which has a classical music background, has been singing together as a family for more than 25 years, receiving accolades for its inspirational Southern Gospel sound.

Every year since winning the Singing News Fan Award for 2014 as Favorite New Trio at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., The Hyssongs have been voted Top Ten Trio of the Year. They can be heard regularly on Southern Gospel radio stations, where their songs consistently chart in the monthly Top 10, and Sirius XM EnLighten.

Their most recent song, “There Is A God,” along with “Choose Life,” “Run the Race,” “I Tell Them Jesus” and “Let The Hallelujahs Ring,” are No. 1 on the Singing News radio charts; and in 2017, their “Faith & Family” CD was voted a Top 10 album of the year by Singing News fans. The Hyssongs perform at more than 225 events each year throughout the United States and Canada, in churches, auditoriums, gospel cruises, television and radio. The Hyssongs have performed on the main stage at the National Quartet Convention; Renfro Valley’s All-Night Sing; annually at Dollywood and Silver Dollar City; and, through Compassion International, visited El Salvador.
