Waldoboro Christmas Light Contest
The Waldoboro Recreation Department hosts a Christmas light contest, with the prizes to be awarded by the Waldoboro Business Association.
There will be two categories — residential and commercial — and they will be judged by five unbiased judges, with the grand prize for each category $150, with $50 for second place.
To register stop by the town office, or email rec@waldoboromaine.org by Dec. 10. By registering you are consenting to your address being publicized for people who would like to see the displays. No names will be given, just addresses.
Winners will be announced on the Waldoboro Recreation Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/waldobororec on Wednesday, Dec. 22.

American Legion Post No. 1 contest
American Legion Post No. 1 is holding a contest two win two cords of wood or 200 gallons of oil.
Winning tickets will be drawn Dec. 17. The cost is $10 per ticket, and can be bought at the Legion — located at 335 Limerock Street in Rockland.
American Legion Post No. 1 New Years Eve Party
American Legion Post No. 1 — located at 335 Limerock Street in Rockland — hosts a 21-and-up New Years Eve party Friday, Dec. 31.
Tickets cost $30 per person, and you reserve your table when your ticket is purchased. Dinner is served from 6-8 p.m. with a choice of stuffed shells or baked stuffed pork. Music is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. to ring in the new year, with a special performance from The Dogs.

Basket Raffle
The Warren Public Library is holding a basket raffle, with proceeds benefiting Warren Food Pantry and Warren Free Public Library Programing.
Tickets are available until Dec. 14 at the Library for 50 cents each. The drawing will be held Dec. 15 at noon. Winners will be contacted after the drawing.
Thomaston Historical Society Celebrates the Holidays
The Thomaston Historical Society will be celebrating the holiday season with the Holiday Open House, the alternative to the Home for the Holiday’s tour in these times.
The Holiday Open House will be at Watts Hall Sunday, Dec. 12 between 4-6 p.m.
